Ok, bear with me here.
Say I have a PD from 1998, but I did not apply for 485 because, say, I wasn't married, or I my religious beliefs did not allow me, or some other reason.
Now when everybody else between 2000 and 2004 have possibly been granted their GCs based on visa availability, how fair it would be for 2005 applicant to be held back just because a 1998 guy applied today? Not it would not be. It is not fair to hold back a 2005 applicant because a 1998 person chose not to apply when the time was ripe.
Now you will argue that 1998 applicant cant be given the PD priority because he did not apply for personal reason, and that is his problem. Sorry, but then you are persecuting that person based on his religious beliefs. a big NO NO.
Bottom line is that PD priority is maintained only through cut-off (priority) dates. Beyond that it is just RD/ND. It may not sound fair to you, but it is actually fair. PD-cut-off already maintain a good priority queue.
Action on these micro-items is not good use of resource. These symptoms are only temporary, and not systemic enough to warrant a legislative action or anything else.

My infopass appointment was pretty quick. I guess it lasted for only 5 to 7 mins. I opened an SR in the month of September however I never received SR response letter from USCIS which they said they have sent me in the last week of October so I didn't have any SR letter to show him. I carried only receipts for 485,765 and 131 for myself and my wife. I asked IO that it's been more than 90 days since I received receipts for employment based 485 and haven't received FP yet. He asked me for Photo Id and receipts for myself and my wife. Then he asked whether I received work authorization (765) and travel document (131) or not. Then he entered our information (receipt no and confirmed my address as well as my attorney's address) and was searching something in his machine and said I will get my FP soon. I asked him is there any time line? He said within 3 weeks. That's it. He said they have received many applications in the month of July and Aug and that's why they are lagging. I guess this is it. I was out of USCIS office within 10 mins.

One quick question - I do not have original 485 receipts with me but have scanned copies of them which my lawyer has emailed me. If I print them out and take them to the infopass, is that sufficient or do they ask for the original receipts?

folks who got their GC recently - i was wondering what the post "card production ordered" timeline looks like. How long did it take to get the GC in hand once the CPO email/LUD was received, and what other updates did you receive along the way?

How can a person find out that you are there when you have not written a word after the first post. Now that you have replied, that is good. Everyone knows that you have read the responses.

What do you think we should be doing at this site? What is the objective of this site? Is everyone being part of that objective? What would be a constructive post to be a part of objective? What effort people have put toward the objective?

that Senior Members would be more involved in posting on this website. It makes a lot of difference if core members who have a closer perspective of the truth could respond to some questions on these threads. No response, in my opinion only helps in making the website dead and promotes unproductive arguments and squabbles here.
It is "good" that they are not talking. That means they are working harder and something good is expected to happen.
If there is more talk then outcome is less. This is my experience from past one plus year from IV and other immigration forums. When everyone get "too much" excited and keep posting madly about some "immature deal", at the end of the day nothing "concrete" is achived.
Let IV do their work. I am hopeful something "good" will happen in near future.

Apparently you completely missed the point. I am asking core members to participate in discussion on these forums, not to put sensational headlines that excites people. Hope that helps.
IV is making efforts to prepare for the coming coming months. It involves but not limited to funding drive to sustain and grow efforts, membership drive to grow in size and have impact of numbers, generating awareness and building support via media articles. Speculating will not help much. Pls. do participate in these drives in order to build momentum for the coming months and we will all have better chances for any legislative change. maybe there are not enough EB3- I cases in the queue ;) ..well one of my friends did get his GC during last fiasco ..eb3 - I, pd 2003. ofcourse there is no unity ..it is every man for himself (And hence save as much as you can while you enjoy life)..and hence don't worry too much ..GC will come when it has to (my friend told me that once ..and I found those words comforting) ...see few of the threads nearby ..people are content talking about dots (I guess since they know nothing will ever happen due to our actions :-) ..and I sort of agree).
I also guess there are not much cases of EB3 left, atleast till PD dec 2002. Jun filers who ever did not get their GC last summer or fall will be waiting.

The newsletter mentioned above was sent out to all members yesterday afternoon. Maybe some have turned off emails from IV, or it went to the spam folder.
I have received the news letter and it is pretty neat. But you know, many people are busy. So my suggestion was to send out another simple version with only the Advocacy day link with a request for contribution.

My employer filed my wife's and my EAD paper based application on Jul 25, 2008 (TSC Received Date). But I still haven't received the Receipt notices for the same.
Generally how long does take to get the receipt notices?
Please let me know if any has filed around same date and received the receipts?
